Department Overview
The Music Department structure includes:

• String Instruments Main Art Department,
• Piano-Harp-Guitar Main Art Department,
• Wind and Percussion Instruments Main Art Department.

The goal of the department and its main art branches is to provide high-quality education at an international level.

In the Instrument Main Art Department, programs have been developed to support instrument education tailored to students' interests and talents. Students can select courses from elective groups relevant to their education, as well as courses from other disciplines based on their interests and talents. Students can specialize in solo performance, chamber music, orchestral/ensemble performance, and instrument education.

The qualifications of the programs offered by the Main Art Department under the State Conservatory are defined according to the Turkish Higher Education Qualifications Framework (TYYÇ). The design of the programs, their objectives, and learning outcomes align with the Bologna ECTS Information Package, ensuring a high level of compliance. Input from internal and external stakeholders is considered when designing elective courses.

The department has defined processes for program design and approval, with program goals and learning outcomes publicly announced, showing alignment with the TYYÇ. Program content is prepared by considering national core programs, accreditation criteria (if available), and institutional mission and vision. Plans are made to monitor the realization of program outcomes, with detailed methods for addressing shared institutional outcomes.

Mission:
The Faculty of Music and Performing Arts aims to train individuals who are knowledgeable, equipped, cultured, and confident in education and teaching. It emphasizes applied, project-based, and multidisciplinary research, prioritizes sustainable relationships with stakeholders, and blends knowledge, love, and respect with the rich historical and cultural heritage of Turkey and Çanakkale. It is a quality-oriented, innovative, and entrepreneurial Faculty of Music and Performing Arts.

Vision:
With a young and dynamic workforce, a liberal, innovative, and sustainable structure, and a quality-oriented management approach, the faculty aims to become the best conservatory in the region and a strong academic and artistic institution in Turkey and the world through its scientific research, education, artistic, and sporting activities.

Message from the Department Chair

Dear Students,

This program aims to train artists, interpreters, and educators capable of performing national and international music at a high level. The Music Department is a preferred program for graduates of Fine Arts High Schools, State Conservatory middle and high schools, and part-time conservatory students.

The program prepares students for Master’s and Doctorate/Proficiency in Art programs. The principle of “from the local to the universal” is adopted by our educators. Training artists and art educators capable of performing national and international music at a high level is among our primary goals.

You will join a department where you can not only receive high-quality education but also participate in numerous scientific and artistic events and contribute to high-level research and production.

We believe that upon graduation, you will not face employment issues, will expand your social network, and will contribute to national and global culture as a well-trained individual.
