Purpose
The purpose of the Music Department, which admits students to graduate and proficiency in art programs, is to train "artist-scientists" in the four main areas of music: performance, composition, research, and education. These students will be equipped with professional skills, aware of changes and developments, and have embraced the importance of lifelong learning.
Goal
The program aims to educate performers, composers, musicians, and researchers regardless of genre. It seeks to increase the aesthetic values of society and contribute to cultural life. The goal is to train highly qualified individuals in music, musicology, and performing arts, and to strengthen the Music Department’s foundation for qualified artist-scientists through national and international events.

Admission and Registration Conditions
Applicants must fulfill the conditions determined by Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University's Educational-Teaching and Examination Regulations.
Advancement to Higher Levels
Students who complete their Master's program may proceed to the proficiency in art or doctoral programs. Students who complete the proficiency in art program may pursue post-doctoral education abroad.
Graduation Conditions
Students who meet the requirements set out in Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University's Educational-Teaching and Examination Regulations will graduate from the Master's and Proficiency in Art programs.
History
Since the 2021-2022 academic year, the Music Department has started admitting students to the Master's program, and since the 2023-2024 academic year, to the Proficiency in Art program. No distinction is made between departments and branches in student admissions. The Music Department attracts young scholars and artists aiming for both academic and artistic development.
Employment Opportunities for Graduates
Graduates can work as academics in institutions providing professional music education or serve as artists and educators in official or private art institutions and ensembles.
Examination Evaluation Rules
Each student must participate in courses, projects, seminars, graduation projects, and other activities of the enrolled semester. Examinations are written and practical. At the discretion of the instructor, exams, projects, and assignments may also be conducted orally. Examinations are conducted and organized by the instructors teaching the courses.

It equips students with communication and professional skills, awareness of changes and developments, and an understanding of the importance of lifelong learning in the music field.
Recognition of Prior Learning
Students who have completed undergraduate education and graduated are eligible for admission to the Master’s program.
