Department Introduction
The Music Department is structured with the following main disciplines: String Instruments, Piano-Harp-Guitar, Wind and Percussion Instruments. Providing international-level, qualified education is one of the department's and our main disciplines' goals. The department aims to educate musicians, music educators, and researchers who are interested in education-performance-research, equipped with communication and professional skills, aware of changes and developments, and embrace the importance of lifelong learning.
In the main disciplines, programs have been developed to support high-quality instrument education based on students' desires and talents. In addition to the courses related to their field of study, students can also choose courses from different disciplines in line with their interests and abilities. Students can specialize in areas such as solo performance, chamber music, orchestral/group performance, and instrument education. Graduates can work as academicians in institutions providing professional music education, or as artists and art educators in public or private art institutions and ensembles. They can also become teachers with a certification.
The qualifications of the programs in the Music and Performing Arts Faculty are defined based on the Turkish Higher Education Qualifications Framework. The program designs aim to align with the goals and learning outcomes of the curriculum, ensuring a high level of Bologna ECTS Information Package occupancy. Learning outcomes and program outcomes are aligned, and stakeholder opinions are considered when determining elective courses. The Faculty of Music and Performing Arts has defined processes for program design and approval. The goals and learning outcomes of the programs are established, in alignment with TYYÇ, and publicly announced. When determining program qualifications, the institution’s mission and vision have been taken into consideration. All program contents and course information packages are prepared with attention to national core programs, standards (e.g., accreditation criteria), and other relevant guidelines. The expression of outcomes clearly defines the anticipated cognitive, affective, and cyclical levels. The implementation methods for achieving program outcomes have been planned, especially focusing on the institution's approach to addressing common outcomes. The principles and rules for structuring learning outcomes and necessary teaching processes are defined at the departmental level. The types of education in which competencies can be developed (face-to-face, blended, distance) are also defined. In the program design, the physical and technological needs of the programs are considered.

From the Department Head
Dear Students,
This program aims to educate artists-performers-educators who can perform both national and international music at a high level. The Music Department is a program preferred by graduates of full-time and part-time music faculties and conservatories, as well as students from Fine Arts High Schools. The program aims to prepare students for the Master's and Doctorate/Artistic Proficiency programs.
The “Principle of Moving from Local to Global” has been adopted by our educators. One of our key goals is to train artists and art educators who can perform national and international music with quality.
In addition to receiving high-quality education, you will be part of a department and educational process that conducts numerous scientific and artistic events, produces qualified research, and generates creative output.
We believe that upon graduation, you will have no employment issues, gain valuable experience, receive excellent training, and contribute to both national and global culture.
