Message from the Dean

From Our Dean:

It is well-known that universities, and therefore institutions providing professional music education, have three important duties: to provide high-quality education and training, to conduct scientific research, and to implement scholarly and artistic practices that contribute to society and culture. Our faculty continues its educational activities with a new and different excitement, fully aware of these responsibilities.

Between 2021-2024, within the State Conservatory, and from the 2024-2025 academic year onwards, within the Faculty of Music and Performing Arts, our esteemed academics are diligently training our students. They are conducting scientific studies (books, articles, papers, projects, etc.) contributing to music science and culture, and most importantly, organizing countless scientific and artistic activities (recitals, concerts, listening sessions, conferences, workshops, masterclasses, summer and winter schools, interviews, etc.) to serve the community and enhance the students' experiences.

Throughout this process, our students are given the opportunity to live as confident, motivated, and evolving individuals who are on their way to becoming future artists, scientists, and educators, growing and shaping their culture while contributing to it.

On our journey toward becoming a faculty where emotions are harmonized with love through music, we are supported not only by our academic staff but also by music and art professionals from all over the country and the world. This collaboration greatly assists our students in building networks and helps them look toward the future with renewed hope.

We firmly believe that we will train students who wish to develop themselves in all fields of music—regardless of genre, including performance, composition, research, and conducting—and who consider music as their profession, to make a mark internationally.

Our faculty provides education with a focus on national and spiritual values, prioritizing modernity in methods and techniques. We adopt a versatile, multidimensional approach, aiming for universality while staying true to our Anatolian roots, merging them with the world.

We want you to know that we value the principle of "From Environment to Universe," that we work hard and produce, and that we would be delighted to welcome you, our esteemed students, to be part of this journey with us.
