Our Faculty

HISTORY

The proposal for the "Transformation of the State Conservatory into Music and Performing Arts" at our university was implemented following the decision of the university senate on 17.06.2021 (11/02), and the publication of the Presidential decree No. 7477 on 03.08.2023, resulting in the establishment of Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University Faculty of Music and Performing Arts.


MISSION

Our mission is to train individuals who are knowledgeable, equipped, cultured, and confident; to adopt a project-based, interdisciplinary research approach that focuses on practical scientific work; to establish sustainable relationships with stakeholders; and to combine knowledge, love, and respect with the rich history and culture of our country and region. The faculty aims to be a "quality-oriented, innovative, and entrepreneurial faculty."

The vision of the Faculty of Music and Performing Arts is to become the leading faculty in the region, recognized nationally and internationally for its scientific research, education, and artistic activities. With its youth and dynamic structure, freedom-centered and innovative approach, the faculty aims to be one of the most influential institutions in music and performing arts education in the country and globally.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR GRADUATES

Graduates can work as artists and experts in institutions affiliated with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, in the cultural departments of provincial and municipal governments, as academicians in universities, and as teachers through certification programs.

Additionally, our graduates can pursue expertise and academic careers in fields such as Statistics, Acoustics, Psychoacoustics, Auditory Music Perception, Music Psychology, Music Physiology and Biology, Linguistics, Prehistoric Music Archaeology, Music Sociology, Music Theory/Analysis and Composition, Art History and Theory, Cultural Studies, Music History, Literature and Science, Music Philosophy, Music Education, Music Therapy, and related areas.

The Faculty of Music and Performing Arts carries out its educational and teaching activities within the Nedime Hanım Mansion Campus and Anafartalar Campus of our university.

SPORTS HALL

The Education Faculty Sports Hall covers a total area of 1700 m², with a 990 m² sports hall. It includes shower-changing rooms, referee rooms, administrative offices, and training rooms over two floors.


ÇOMÜ EDUCATION LIBRARY (Anafartalar Campus)

The Education Library, located at the Anafartalar Campus, houses nearly 30,000 printed publications related to education and relevant disciplines.
