Prof. Dr. Uğur TÜRKMEN

Born in 1971 in Kütahya, he completed his primary, secondary, and high school education in Kütahya. He graduated from the Department of Music Education, Faculty of Education, Uludağ University in 1993. He completed his Master's degree in 1996 and his Doctorate in 2005. He became an Associate Professor in 2010 and a Professor in 2017.
Between 1993-2000, he worked at Niğde University, between 2001-2006 at Kütahya Fine Arts High School, and between 2006-2021 at Afyon Kocatepe University. Since February 2021, he has been working at the State Conservatory of Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University.
Prof. Dr. Türkmen teaches courses such as Research Methods, Systematic Musicology Studies, Social Psychology and Music, Polyphonic Practices in Turkish Music, and Theory and Solfeggio Pedagogy. He has presented papers at national and international scientific conferences, published articles in professional and peer-reviewed journals, and has written books in the fields of music education, chamber music/orchestra, and children's and youth songs.
