Zerin Rasul began her music education at the age of six at the Special Music School attached to the Tashkent State Conservatory, which accepts exceptionally talented children. She graduated from this school with honors in 1982. At the age of ten, she performed with the Tashkent State Philharmonic Orchestra and the Fergana Symphony Orchestra. From 1982 to 1987, she studied at the Tashkent State Conservatory with Uzbekistan’s State Artist, Prof. A. Gekkelmann. In 1985, she won third place at the Uzbekistan Republic Piano Competition, and in 1986, she won second place at the Uzbekistan Republic Chamber Music Competition. In 1986, she participated in a competition held at the St. Petersburg Academy of Fine Arts, covering the fields of fine arts and music in the Soviet Union, where she won second place.
In 1987, she graduated from the conservatory with the highest honors and earned a “High Honors Diploma,” gaining the rights to use the titles of concert pianist, chamber music performer, pedagogue, and accompanist. She completed her doctoral studies at the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory, studying under the famous Russian pianist and State Artist of Russia, Prof. M. Voskressensky, and obtained the “Superior Interpretation and Concert Pianist Diploma.”
From 1990 to 1994, she worked as a faculty member in the Piano Department and as an accompanist in the String Instruments Department at the Tashkent State Conservatory. She has performed recitals in Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Lithuania, Spain, Portugal, and Turkey. She made recordings for television and radio in Uzbekistan and performed as a soloist with the Uzbekistan Philharmonic Orchestra. She has participated in various major international competitions.
Now living in Turkey, Zerin Rasul continues her work as the Coordinator and Faculty Member of the Piano Department at Bilkent University’s Faculty of Music and Performing Arts. In addition to her solo and chamber music performances, as well as concerts with orchestras, she continues to conduct master classes, recitals, and class concerts at universities and schools in various provinces of Turkey. Many of Zerin Rasul’s students have been awarded prizes at national and international competitions and have earned the opportunity to perform as soloists with orchestras.
